The Mobius Megatar bass will be designed to make it easy for a beginner or an advanced player to adopt the two-handed tapping, or 'Touch-Style', technique for playing music.
The Mobius Megatar bass will be of modular construction, so that different models can be provided, to allow for the differing needs of musicians. Further, the patented slim-line design will be constructed in modular fashion so that guitar-builders around the world will find the instrument easy to work on.
Every Mobius Megatar instrument will have six bass strings and six melody strings, and these strings can be played merely by tapping the fingers of both hands upon the strings. a longer time than otherwise. Long sustain is a feature especially valued by touch-style players.
The tuners will be high-ratio (16:1), to make tuning the stiff bass strings easy on the fingers, and to offer precise tuning.
The bridge will be a standard design commonly used on the popular 'Stratocaster' guitar. This then provides standard string spacing, and this in turn makes it possible to fit almost any commercially available pickup onto the instrument.
All Mobius Megatar instruments will include the patented Buzz Feiten Intonation System. By licensing this remarkable set of patents we can produce instruments which sound better because they sound more in tune. By means of carefully calibrated adjustments to each end of the string –- completely different than industry practice –- the tuning of the notes along each string are offset by precise amounts. The result is that the entire fretboard can sound noticeably more in tune! Since intonation errors are common in fretted instruments, players can get very excited when for the first time they can play and everything sounds in tune!
Every Mobius Megatar bass will come with the unique 'MegStrap,' (now patented) a design which is easy to don and easy to remove, and which effortlessly holds the instrument in correct upright playing position. And on the rear surface of the instrument is to be included a built-in connector, so that a player can optionally use alternate methods of supporting the instrument.
